Why it exists
I organize events. Every tool I tried to plan a course either charged for the privilege of drawing a line, or drew the line and stopped there: no way to show where the medics were, where the water was, where the cutoff sat, where a volunteer needed to stand.
So the plan ended up in a PDF, a spreadsheet, and a handful of texts. Three versions of the truth by race week, and the marshal on the far side of the hill has the oldest one. Skad puts it on one map.
What Skad is
A map you draw on. Waypoints for medics, hydration, cutoffs, volunteers, and logistics. Distance, climb, and an elevation profile as you go. A link, an embed, or a public post when the course is set.
On race week it splits three ways from the same map: a runner page shared by link, a crew page behind a code with the shifts and access roads, and a print pack for the people who want paper in a pocket.
How it stays free
Routes are free forever, however many you draw, and runners never pay. An event is what costs: €29 once, covering one edition of one event until a month after race day, roughly what one runner pays to enter it. While the launch offer runs, your first event is free.

What it is not
Not registration, not timing, not a results board. Other people do that well. Skad does the course.
The name
Skaði is the Norse goddess of mountains and winter. Her defining myth is a choice made deliberately, on her own read of the ground in front of her. Choose your ground.
Who builds it
One person, Paul, between events. Skad is young and in beta: if something is missing, it is usually because nobody has needed it in front of me yet.
