About
Made by an organizer, for organizers.
Skad is a free course planner. Draw the route, mark what matters, and hand one link to your runners and volunteers.
Why it exists
I organize events. Every tool I tried to plan a course either charged for the privilege of drawing a line, or drew the line and stopped there: no way to show where the medics were, where the water was, where the cutoff sat, where a volunteer needed to stand.
So the plan ended up in a PDF, a spreadsheet, and a handful of texts. Skad puts it on one map.
What Skad is
A map you draw on. Waypoints for medics, hydration, cutoffs, volunteers, and logistics. Distance, climb, and an elevation profile as you go. A link, an embed, or a public post when the course is set.
Free. Placeholder: state how it stays free.
What it is not
Not registration, not timing, not a results board. Other people do that well. Skad does the course.
The name
Skaði is the Norse goddess of mountains and winter. Her defining myth is a choice made deliberately, on her own read of the ground in front of her. Choose your ground.
Who builds it
Placeholder: a short note on who you are and how to reach you.
